Hello, my name is Rob Larkin but feel free to call me "The Redneck". My taxidermy studio is not a business that was simply created. In a way, it's an extension of who I am. Like many others, I grew up hunting, fishing, trapping and camping. I have a great passion, love and desire for the outdoors. All the hours I have spent in the woods scouting, hunting and trapping have given me a well-rounded education in animal behavior and natural habitat. As a member of the Michigan Taxidermist Association, I increase my knowledge through attending seminars, meetings and hands-on training presented by some of the most distiguished artists in the industry. I also compete in the annual state taxidermy competition held in Grand Rapids. This further improves my talents and keeps me current on the latest products and techniques.
As a husband, father and blue collar worker I understand that choosing a taxidermist can be a difficult decision. You are looking for the highest quality of artistry that will still meet your budget. As a client of mine, I promise that you won't have to remortgage your home or take on a second job just to pay for your mount. My prices are affordable and I offer a flexible payment plan. I also offer discounted rates for youth hunt participants.
I do not out source any work to wholesale taxidermists of large tanneries. I tan all hides in-house using a wet tan method. This method eliminates the worries of your trophy whitetail cape getting misplaced or shipped back to the wrong taxidermist. Having my own tanner is just one way I am able to keep my prices low.
